On March 27, 2025, the College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering welcomed 10 new international students from Sri Lanka, Zimbabwe, Angola, Bangladesh, South Sudan, and Botswana at an orientation session. The event aimed to help students adapt to campus life and connect with facultymembers.

Ms. Chen Yan, International Student Counselor, hosted the session. She highlighted the school’s commitment to cultural exchange and academic excellence. New students introduced themselves and shared their motivations for studying in China.
Deputy Party Secretary Shu Qing provided an overview of the school’s history, academic programs, and campus culture, urging students to actively engage with faculty. Faculty representatives from Chemical Engineering and Applied Chemistry departments outlined course structures and pledged support for students’ academic growth.
The session concluded with a laboratory tour and a networking activity with senior international students.
